Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the DogShield AI application. By downloading or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DogShield AI ("the App"), developed by Massimiliano Merlo ("Developer"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

DogShield AI is an educational application that uses artificial intelligence to provide general information about the safety of foods, plants, and substances for dogs. The App also provides tools for tracking dog health records, reminders, and weight history.

3. Medical Disclaimer

The information provided by DogShield AI is for general informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. You should:

• Always consult a licensed veterinarian before making medical decisions for your pet.
• Contact your vet or an emergency animal hospital immediately in case of emergency.
• Not rely solely on the App's AI analysis for critical health decisions.
• Call ASPCA Animal Poison Control (888-426-4435) in case of suspected poisoning.

The Developer is not responsible for any harm, injury, or death resulting from reliance on the App's information.

4. AI-Generated Content

DogShield uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate responses. AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. The App provides educational guidance based on general veterinary knowledge, but:

• AI responses are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete.
• Results may vary depending on individual dog characteristics.
• The AI cannot account for your dog's specific medical history or conditions.

5. Subscriptions and Purchases

DogShield AI offers optional premium subscriptions through Apple In-App Purchases:

• Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law.
• Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.

6. User Responsibilities

By using the App, you agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful purposes.
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or distribute the App.
• Provide accurate information when setting up dog profiles.
• Understand that the App is a supplementary tool, not a replacement for veterinary care.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and materials within DogShield AI are the intellectual property of Massimiliano Merlo, unless otherwise noted. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or reliance on its content.

9. Availability and Updates

The Developer reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice. We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
